Painting Streetscapes in Oils:

Light, Shadow & Colour Temperature

Learn how to simplify a streetscape into strong shapes, believable structure, warm sunlight and cool shadows.  In this practical two-day workshop, You will be guided through a step-by-step process for approaching urban subjects without becoming overwhlemed by architectural detail.

Students will explore composition, tonal structure, light and shadow, colour temperature, atmospheric depth, painterly edges and selective detail.  The focus will be on creating a resolved oil painting study, not a technical artchitectural rendering, whilst giving you a practical method you can use again.  Reference images and support notes will be supplied.

Level:  Beginner to intermediate.  Material list on booking. Morning Tea provided, Bring your own lunch.
